unassuming brick motel, 3 km (2 mi) south of the Avon Theatre, is known
for the flower beds on its generous grounds. Free coffee and muffins await
guests in the morning. The Swan can book guests at nearby golf courses.

don't know what "motel" means to you, but to me, it normally
sounds like an unprepossessing place to stop that's right by a highway.
Well, the Swan is indeed 3km (2 miles) from downtown Stratford, but its
grounds are completely luxurious. This property has been run by the same
family for more than 40 years, and it has a warm, gracious atmosphere.
The rooms are nonsmoking, and they are simply but pleasantly arranged.
The grounds are the real drawing card, with the romantic Victorian gazebo,
beds of perennial flowers, and outdoor pool. - www.frommers.com
