Happy Holidays!
So many faiths and so many beliefs! So little time to explore and enjoy them all! But this we know to be true, most people celebrate something in the month of December and that leads to time off from busy work schedules, time with friends and family, good food, good drink and time to relax with a good book or some soothing music. However you choose to spend your holidays, or not, please accept our very best wishes for you and those you love during this season of reflection and merry-making. As always, we are grateful for your friendship and patronage. Wishing you all a Happy Holiday Season, a New Year filled with promise and a healthy winter!

Another season over
Another season over -- my how time does fly!
Although our doors are now closed for a long winter's nap we're already taking reservations for next year! The Stratford Shakespeare Festival opens its phone lines on November 16. I'm sure the best seats will go fast with the likes of Christopher Plummer, Brent Carver and well-loved Stratford faves gracing the stages.
Here at the Swan we are putting the gardens to bed, taking down dead trees and planting new ones. Peter begins sprucing up the rooms and I'm busy with end of season paperwork. Then, some downtime, some family time, some underwater time...
I can hardly believe that the Swan has just completed its 45th season in operation under the same family ownership. That's because you, our loyal guests, keep coming back and telling your friends and colleagues about the Swan. We want to THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for placing your faith in us and, as I often say, for helping to put our girls through college!
Thanks again and now it's onward and upward to 2010!

A Tourist in My Own Town
One of the things I love most about Stratford is having the opportunity to be a tourist in my own town. My sisters were visiting from Toronto last week and we had a blast going to shows, dining and of course, shopping! I'm always so proud of everything we have to offer here. Stratford truly has it all; big city sophistication with small town charm. As we were walking around the river one sister commented that she could easily sell her house in the city and move here, a comment echoed by dozens of my regular guests. That would be great! I said. Just one or two minor roadblocks--the husband, the kids, and what about a job??? Oh yeah, there IS all that she replied. It's nice to dream though...
